We read and hear the term ‘antioxidant’ regularly in this health-obsessed day and age, but few of us know what they actually are and why they’re so vital to our day-to-day well-being and vitality. Literally, the term describes anything that is an anti-oxidant, meaning any molecule that inhibits the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is what causes most fruit to discolor when cut open.
