We can all picture those natural, beautiful water springs where we imagine all mineral water sources from. Despite the fact that most people reading this have probably never seen a real spring in their entire lives, there is something so natural, exotic and apparently healthy about this type of water. The healthy connotations associated with natural spring water are so strong, that I can’t imagine anyone would ever question if there are spring water dangers from consuming this natural elixir. And you see, this is basically what we are doing when we ask ourselves ‘Are there alkaline water dangers?’. Because the fact is, alkaline water from a water ionizer machine is just like natural spring water found in the wild. And that means it has a +7 level on the pH scale and is naturally loaded with healing antioxidants.
The problem is that not all ‘alkaline water’ comes from ionizers. So are there alkaline water dangers if we are, say, getting it from bottles?
Natural spring water from its source and ionized water from a water ionizer is incredibly curative for the human body. But the same can’t be said if you are getting your alkaline water from bottles. The problem is that all plastic bottles are made from plastics derived from petrochemicals. And there is evidence that traces of these petrochemical substances, like BPA and Phthalates, seep into the liquid they are encasing, leading to health risks if one is exposed over time. The problem of seeping and the tainting of drinking liquid is exacerbated when plastic bottles are stored in warm places or left in the sun, which is something no doubt that many of us do.
But the truth is, these dangers are nothing to do with alkaline water itself, merely the bottle that alkaline water can be stored in.
So sure, there are bottled alkaline water dangers, but I can’t say alkaline water itself has any. In fact, the opposite is true if we consider the American diet.
The reason why we all need alkaline water is because we are eating too many acidic foods. As Americans, we tend to enjoy putting acid beverages down our throat. Which is essentially what nearly all sodas and especially Coca Cola is; highly acidic on the pH scale. But it’s not just drink. It’s most foods we eat, too.
So, drinking alkaline water can put an end to this destructive spiral of acid consumption that leads to an acid state and all the health concerns associated with having a body pH balance that is recklessly out of balance.
But seeing as bottled alkaline water is not recommended, what is the best alkaline water to drink helps to lower the acidity in the body AND gives tangible health benefits over the fact that it is not acidic? The answer is ionized water from a water ionizer unit. This is alkaline water that is ionized, which means it is packed with healing antioxidants.
I think you’ll find that discovering healing ionized water and learning how it is beneficial to drink is a far cry from any initial reservations about ‘alkaline water dangers‘. There are none, it’s just like natural spring water.
