Deteriorating Pipes add Heavy Metals to Drinking Water
All around the United States, infrastructure is crumbling. Bridges are rusting, our power grid is inefficient and needs serious updating, and of even greater concern our pipes that deliver us our tap water are deteriorating and fill depositing heavy metals in our glass of water.
Most of us are well aware of what happened in Flint, Michigan where heavy metals in the water poisoned the town. That same situation is happening all over the country. In New York City, for example, there are so many heavy metals in the water that they clog up our water ionizer filters within 3 to 4 months. All of our customers that live in the New York City area have to install heavy metal pre-filters.
Deteriorating pipes are also a problem in Philadelphia, Boston, Portland, Chicago and the suburbs surrounding those major cities. There are other cities that are also right on the cusp of having major problems. It’s a good idea to check with your local Municipal Water company to see what are the current levels of heavy metals in the water.
Check Your Municipal Water Report for Mercury, Lead, Copper, and Arsenic
When checking the report, you should pay particular attention to high levels of mercury, arsenic, copper, and lead as these metals have been shown to have a particularly detrimental effect on human health such as developmental delays in our children and immune system disorders in adults.
You might also want to ask what your Municipal Water company is using to treat their deteriorating pipes. Many are using harsh chemicals like chromium-6 to clean the pipes. If you remember the movie Erin Brockovich, chromium-6 has been linked to cancer.
Municipal water companies have also been known to coat their pipes with glue like adhesives. These adhesives are toxic and we’re never meant to be a permanent fix to the problem of crumbling, leaky pipes. So what’s happening is these adhesives that were applied long ago are also deteriorating and the chemicals in those adhesives are getting into your drinking water.
Our Water Ionizer Water Filters Remove Heavy Metals
To fix these water issues, we of course recommend getting a water ionizer. Our water ionizers have a 16 stage water filtration system that removes 99.99% of all of the chemicals and heavy metals that are in your water. That water is then sent to a water electrolysis chamber where the water is ionized. The alkaline chemical structure is restored and it is full of antioxidants that detoxify your body.
If your water has high levels of heavy metals, we also recommend getting a KDF water filter to use as a pre-filter. KDF will remove the heavy metals from the water before they get to our water ionizer filters. This will preserve the life of our water ionizer filters and save you money.
The time when Americans could just drink their tap water with nothing to worry about is now gone. You have to at the very least filter your drinking water. To get the healthiest water that can hydrate your body three times more effectively and also is also free of heavy metals, you should also get a water ionizer.
To your health!
