recognize that going through this process will take 15 to 30 minutes. However, this is
something that you will only have to learn once. Plus, it makes a big difference.
Also, keep in mind to make your signature text short and catchy. Stay away from using
blatant salesy type phrases. Hint: Type something that you would want to
click.
2. Coop Advertising & Partnerships
Another great use that is not often employed is partnerships. With your Impact Movie, it is
relatively
easy to enroll companies and individuals as partners.

While an email campaign is only one of many ways to use your movie, we want you to be
successful.
Marketing through email can be easy if you take the time to do it right. Here at AngelVision, we
have
become very good at finding the right sources and delivering our message in a way that works.
Here are
a few tips for helping your company be successful in your own email marketing
campaign.
3.1 CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (S.877)
What you need to know about the law & Email campaigns are a legal, legitimate, and effective way of doing business but there are some guidelines to follow. If you're sending unsolicited email there are a few things that
you need to know. Heres what the law requires in a nutshell:

3.2 Finding Your Sources
Caution: Use only reputable Email Brokers and List Providers
There are a countless number of email brokers and email list providers. Many of them are reputable but many others are not. Here are sources to consider before buying or renting a
list from anyone:

These are typically rented through trade publications and magazines.

3.3 23 Email Marketing Tips
Remember: The purpose of the email is to get folks to watch the movie Thats it! Here are some guidelines to keep in mind for Email Marketing:

Design
1. Avoid Fancy HTML
or Flash in the email. It screams Im hear to sell you
something.
2. Text based emails have the highest chance of getting to your recipients. The
default settings in MS Outlook are disabled for image viewing. Most people do
not change these settings.
3. Design you email layout assuming that images may be blocked from being
viewed. In fact, leave images out altogether if possible.
4. Make use of the email preview pane. This is important real estate. What the
viewer sees here will encourage them to either open your email or delete it.
Catch your recipients attention right away at the beginning/top of your email.
5. Avoid using multiple fonts, font sizes, colors, highlighting and using too much
bolding and underlining. All these things can and will trigger spam or junk mail
filters.
6. Links should be highlighted in blue. Proven to be a higher probability of
generating a click thru.

7. Have an engaging
subject line, but keep it short. An effective subject line is going catch the eye of your recipient and encourage them to open your email. Best if this is personalized including the company name or personal name of the recipient.
8. Use personalization/customization in your email. Research shows that people are much more likely to open & act on an email that is personalized. Use throughout the content.
9. Keep the message short, and to the point, or you may risk loosing the interest of the recipient. 2-3 sentences. Avoid sounding salesy. Design the content to be conversational and inviting to a next step.
10. Have your reply to email be specific to one person, rather than a generic sales@
or info@. General addresses are less personal. You will see a better result with apersonalized signature.
11. Include a signature line at the bottom of your emails its professional and gives you a chance to provide your contact information.
12. Check for SPAM keywords. This is a feature in AV Mail. SPAM filters have no sense
of context. They evaluate each word individually. Avoid words like: free, dollars, violations, exploiting, drugs, and the use of $$ signs or odd symbols, etc.
13. Make sure your email is Can-Spam ACT compliant! Including a clear unsubscribe link.

14. Have a personal Signature at the bottom of the email; Make sure the signature matches the email address it was sent from.
15. Keep it conversational. If you take a formal tone in your email, youll lose a majority of your audience. They get formal email all day long. Its nice to talk to a real person once in a while.
16. Be honest. Be straightforward. Be specific. Be considerate. Lots of bes. Although these may sound obvious, sometimes common sense isnt very common. (Okay, we stole that from Abe Lincoln).
17. Make it original. We all get plenty of canned emails. We all find them annoying and inauthentic. Make your message unique and or value to the recipient. Remember, youre in business to help people find a solution to their problems. You are there for them and you just want them to know it

18. Dont be sloppy close all tags and be especially mindful of tables. Spam filters
will pick up on poorly coded emails and typically reduce your chances of delivery.
19. Have an alternate text version of your email.
20. Use ALT tags in images. If an image is blocked the viewer will see this text instead.
Testing
21. Test, test and test again! Create a distribution list for testing ensure all links work
properly, personalization/customization displays correctly, and there are no
spelling or grammar errors.
22. Check the reliability, look and feel of your email when in different email programs (AOL, Gmail, Outlook, etc.) This is a feature in AV Mail.
23. Review your message for spelling and grammar issues prior to sending it. Do not
rely on proofing on screen. Print out the email and edit from a hard copy. There
are some people out there who are sticklers for good use of language. Dont give
them an excuse to disregard your
message.
