Don’t Believe the Kagen Water Myth
According to the manufacturer, Kagen Water is “delicious water created from innovative water technology.” Technology that not only “filters your tap water,” but also “produces ionized alkaline and acidic waters through electrolysis.” And there’s more. Apparently, Kagen Water “can be used for various purposes, including drinking, cooking, beauty, and cleaning.”
Manufacturer Enagic USA claims that Kagen Water is unique and other ionized water products are imitations. But as I read through Kagen Water‘s roll-call of attributes, there was something very familiar sounding about them. In fact, after thinking about it, I realized that everything in the marketing can be found in other ionized waters.
There is nothing unique about Kagen Water at all. And what’s worse is that Enagic USA is charging a premium to buy the technology used to create their supposed unique water.
Enagic USA and Kagen Water – A Vision of True Health?
“Beware of knock-offs” is part of Enagic’s marketing. And this is partly based around the assertion that this USA-based company sells products made in Japan only. And while there is no disputing that, where Enagic begins to bend the truth a little is their conveyance that only their water product is medical grade. It is not. You see, Enagic like to portray the idea that because their product has received approval for sale in Japan, it is superior to other water ionizer brands on the market. But the truth is that you can get the same quality, medically graded ionized water, or better, for less than the premium Enagic are charging.
Kagen Water is Not Innovative Technology
Enagic’s claim that Kagen Water is produced by innovative technology is quite a stretch. Reading their marketing, this must be because their ionizers produce filtered ionized alkaline and acidic waters. But as stated at the beginning of this article, there is nothing innovative or unique about an ionizer that can filter tap water and produce ionized alkaline and acidic water products. Other top water ionizer producers, like those from EOS Hi-Tech, produce exactly this. In fact, Enagic’s claims of superior manufacturing is exposed as more bluster as it is EOS who has an exclusive partnership with the Heesung metal company in Japan, who specialize in making platinum-titanium plates and are the highest rated in the world.
It’s these platinum titanium plates that are used to ionize tap water in the electrolysis chambers of EOS’s Genesis and Revelation 2 ionizer machines. The product of this ionization process is antioxidant-rich ionized alkaline water and acidic water.
The Genesis and Revelation lines of water ionizers are also equipped with complex 16 filtration systems that include ion resin exchange, activated carbon, and ceramic that will remove 99.99% of contaminants from your water. I don’t know exactly the filtration make-up of Kagen Water ionizers, but it isn’t going to top a 99.99% filtration percent, that’s for sure.
The Pretty Standard Kagen Water Uses
The second part of Kagen Water’s marketing is that it can be used for various purposes, including drinking, cooking, beauty, and cleaning. All completely commonplace uses for most other water ionizer brand waters. And to be honest, you should feel pretty bummed if your water ionizer doesn’t allow you to use its water product for these purposes.
EOS Genesis and Revelation 2 ionizers let you set the alkalinity level of the water they produce for healthy drinking, cooking and beauty purposes. These machines also produce what is termed ‘oxidized water’. This is acidic water that is a perfectly clean, safe and non-contaminating disinfectant, perfect for cleaning.
Kagen Water is Not so Unique After All
If other ionizers produce filtered ionized water for many health and cleaning purposes, what does that make Kagen Water and Enagic USA’s products? Pretty unremarkable. But what’s worse is that the water quality and systems used in these other ionizer brands, like EOS, can be superior to Kagen Water and what is used to create it. But it is Enagic that is charging a premium for it’s Kagen Water products. Go figure.
