Water pH is Important to Your Health
Do you know the pH of good drinking water? Water can range from a pH of one, which is incredibly acidic, to a pH of 14, which is incredibly alkaline. Which water pH is best for your body?
To give you a hint, your own blood is at a pH of 7.33, slightly alkaline. Fluids around your cells are even more alkaline. There is a very delicate pH balance in your body that can be disrupted by foods and beverages that are too acidic or too alkaline. Yet, the water we drink from our tap and from bottles is often too acidic and not what our body wants it all.
Distilled or Reverse Osmosis Water is Acidic
If water is distilled or it is filtered through reverse osmosis, it has been stripped of everything in it. That includes all of the alkaline minerals, all of the oxygen, and all of the antioxidants. What’s left is water in a pure and acidic state. This level of heavy filtration was developed for labs. It is to make sure that when lab equipment is cleaned, there isn’t any residue left on the equipment. But your body is not a piece of lab equipment. Your body needs oxygen, antioxidants, and a whole host of trace minerals. So it makes no sense to strip them all from your water.
Yet when you go to the store, most of your bottled waters are purified. And you see on television many products that brag about being able to purify your water to 0 TDS, or “Zero Water.” Purify is a bad word when it comes to water. You shouldn’t drink anything that has been purified. You want all the bad stuff filtered out, but when the word purified is used, it is referring to everything being removed from the water. Aquafina, Dasani, and many other name brands are purified waters that you should avoid drinking.
You should also avoid using a distiller or a reverse osmosis filter in your home unless you are replacing all that is taken out in later stages of your water treatment system.
You don’t want to drink water or any other beverage that is acidic because acidic substances take on the properties of whatever they come in contact with. In the case of your body, what that water has come in contact with is nutrients from food you are digesting and minerals from your bones. If you continuously leach away minerals and nutrients from your body, it will make you sick over time.
Avoid Other Acidic Beverages
You should also avoid drinking beer, soda, or anything that is carbonated because carbonation is a human waste product that has been added to water. It is incredibly acidic, about a 2.5 pH, and it will rust metal and do all kinds of damage if you put it in your body over a long period of time.
If you have to drink a bottled water, you should drink a spring water like Fuji water. If it says spring on it, that means that, at the very least, the natural alkaline minerals have been left alone. But any water that has been sitting around in a bottle for an extended period of time will become flat or stagnant. A stagnant water has lost all of its natural ions and therefore doesn’t have any antioxidants in it. So unless you were drinking directly from the spring where Fuji gets its water, you are not drinking the same water. You are drinking a stagnant spring water. That’s better than nothing, but it is not ideal.
The pH of Good Drinking Water is 9.5
We think the best solution for drinking water is to get a water ionizer. Our EOS water ionizers filter out all of the chlorine and leftover pharmaceutical drugs, heavy metals, fluoride and anything else that’s nasty in your tap water. However, our sophisticated water filtration system leaves the trace minerals.
After the water is filtered in an EOS water ionizer, it is then sent to a water electrolysis chamber, which naturally mimics what the sun does to water. It adds ions and creates more antioxidants than a glass of blueberry juice. You end up drinking water that is clean and full of antioxidants and overtime this will pay dividends to your health.
The next time you are considering your drinking water, consider the pH of good drinking water. Not all water is created the same. If it’s distilled or filtered through reverse osmosis, it is too acidic to drink. Consider getting a water ionizer to filter your water completely and also restore the antioxidants.
To your health!
