This is recommended for customers with hard water with scaling issues that may interfere with the Genesis performance. If you have hard water, you should use the cleaning cartridge once every six to nine months. Regular water customers should use this cartridge once every year.

How to use the Genesis Platinum Cleaning Cartridge:

Remove the filter #2 from the Genesis Platinum and install the cleaning cartridge in its place.
- Set the Genesis Platinum to the purified water setting.
- Run water through the Genesis Platinum until you see white bubbles.
- Stop the water flow and allow the citric acid to dissolve over the plates for thirty seconds.
- Run water through the Genesis Platinum for 30 liters.
- Remove the cleaning cartridge and replace with the #2 filter.
All done! Now, you're ready to make alkaline water.
