A 2017 study published in the National Institute of Health concluded that vitamin C helps boost your immune system.  Even more incredibly, it helps fight respiratory infections! It even helps with the growth and repair of tissues in your body. With the coronavirus affecting families across the US, you should definitely fight the coronavirus by eating more vitamin C.

There are other nutrients you should eat, too. Vitamin D and vitamin E also help boost our immune systems and make us healthier.

While there hasn’t been any research done on any specific foods that fight the coronavirus, there are 9 foods that you can eat right now to get natural vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and compounds that will boost your immune system and make your body healthier. Eating these foods creates a shield of good health to fight the coronavirus and we highly recommend doing it.

Eat Bell Peppers and Broccoli for Vitamin C

1) Bell Peppers. One cup of bell pepper has 217% of your daily recommended amount of vitamin C! So get some fajitas going and you’ll be doing your immune system a favor.

2) Broccoli. It’s also loaded with vitamin C. It has about 43% of your daily need in just one cup. Broccoli is also full of antioxidants and phyto-chemicals. It also has vitamin E in it which also helps boost your immune system.  

Chickpeas and Strawberries Make Our Bodies Strong

3) Chickpeas. They’re full of protein and amino acids that help repair damaged tissues. Amino acids also help our bodies synthesize enzymes that keep our bodily systems running well.

4) Strawberries. Strawberries are another fruit that is full of vitamin C. One cup of strawberries has about 50% of what we need in a day.

Season Everything with Garlic (Seriously!)

5) Garlic. It’s great for flavor plus it lowers our blood pressure and leads to overall heart health. Garlic also helps boost our immunity because it has sulfur compounds.

6) Mushrooms. Mushrooms are high in vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin. Vitamin D is good for our bones and it helps fight respiratory infections.

Eat Spinach All the Time. Keep Your Gut Healthy with Yogurt

7) Spinach. My favorite leafy green is spinach, which is a super-food that is full of vitamin C and antioxidants. You should add it to your kids sandwiches and cook with it whenever you can.

8) Yogurt. Yogurt is full of probiotics that promote gut health and help boost our immune system.

Also, don’t forget to drink at least eight ounces of ionized water every single hour. Ionized water is full of antioxidants which will detoxify our bodies and it is also a super hydrator. Good hydration makes every part of our body function better.
