Interval Training is Better Than Moderate Exercise

We all know that we should exercise to get and stay healthy. But while all exercise is good for us, some have a much more positive impact. One such exercise is called interval training. This type of training alternates between short, intense periods of exercise followed by less intense periods.  When you combine alkaline ionized water with interval training, you get superior workout results!

Interval Training Improves Aerobic Capacity

One major benefit of interval training is its impact on our hearts. It has been shown to improve our aerobic capacity quicker than other types of exercise, such as long, low-impact, and moderate exercise. As aerobic capacity increases, we can exercise longer and more intensely.

Interval Training Burns Fat Faster

The second significant benefit of interval training is that it burns more calories and helps us burn fat faster than other types of exercise. Twenty-minute interval training sessions can burn far more calories than twenty minutes of moderate-intensity exercise. So, getting on your peloton and moderately exercising for twenty minutes is not as impactful as completing two minutes of strenuous exercise followed by five minutes of less intense exercise followed by another two-minute burst.

Since our aerobic capacity is increasing, we’re burning more calories, and burning more fat, our overall fitness will improve faster with interval training. Which means our bodies will get healthier quicker.

Interval Training Helps Us Feel Better

Another documented benefit of interval training is that it can make us feel better. The short duration of exercise can trigger brain chemicals that improve our mood.

One tip for interval training is to monitor your heart rate. Google your age and wait to see what heart rate burns the most fat. Then, set that as your goal during your interval training. Reach that heart rate for two minutes at a time, followed by moderate exercise for a few minutes. It’s important that you don’t stop after the burst of exercise. The active recovery will help you remove lactic acid and other waste products and prepare your body for the next burst.

Before you start interval training, be sure that you warm up for a few minutes. This will get your muscles ready for and reduce the risk of injury.
