Many people don’t know that water can be different pH’s. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. 0 is the most acidic water and 14 is the most alkaline water. You don’t want to drink acidic water because it is oxidizing to whatever it comes in contact with, meaning it will damage it. But most of bottled water and tap water is, in fact, acidic, and Americans are guzzling it down every day.
The best water to drink is alkaline water with antioxidants in it. The only way to get antioxidants in your alkaline water is if you live next to a glacial spring or longevity spring where the Sun is energizing the water naturally and creating those antioxidants. Or, you can get a water ionizer that will replicate the Sun’s natural ionizing process to create those antioxidants in your water. If you don’t live next to a spring or stream or don’t have a water ionizer, your water does not have any antioxidants in it, and it may be acidic water.
Most bottled water is acidic water. Companies like Dasani and Aquafina use a process called reverse osmosis to strip water of all its impurities. The problem is once water has been stripped of everything that’s inside it, it enters into an acidic state. Without alkaline minerals and ions from the Sun, water won’t be alkaline or have any antioxidants in it. So, drinking a bottle of water that has no oxygen, no minerals, no ions, or anything else in it, is not good for your body. Your body needs oxygen for energy, antioxidants to detoxify, and alkaline minerals to help with pH balance.
Drinking acidic water will damage your body over time. The acid in the water will oxidize your body and create cellular stress. Too much acid in our diets will create a condition called acidosis, which is the precursor of most adult onset diseases. So, it’s best to be mindful of the pH of what you’re eating and drinking.
Acidic water does have some uses though. Acidic water can be used as a beauty water and to sterilize surfaces. A mild acidic water, which can also be made by a water ionizer, is considered a beauty water in Japan and sells for 3 or 4 dollars a bottle. It’s about a 5.5 pH and all you have to do is put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your face and it will act as a natural astringent and absorb the oils and dirt from your face while tightening your pores. A stronger acidic water can sterilize bacteria and viruses. You can put it in a spray bottle and spritz it around your kitchen or bathroom and keep those services sterile naturally without having to use harsh chemicals.
When it comes to acidic water, you definitely shouldn’t drink it. You should only drink alkaline ionized water that’s full of alkaline minerals and antioxidants to keep your body pH balanced and detoxified. But you can use acidic water around your home to keep it sterile and you can even put it on your face too keep that youthful glow without having to use chemicals that will damage your skin.
