Even if I could convince you what is the better of the two home filter methods, it would all fall on deaf ears if you weren’t convinced about the need for filtered water in any case.
But unless you live next to a miraculously untainted natural spring (that somehow flows directly into and out of your home taps), I really would recommend filtration for your tap water if you ever have designs on consuming the stuff regularly.
I’d recommend filters because most tap water supplies in the country are tainted with contaminants, and you wouldn’t believe what can be found in the water. Stuff like traces of pharmaceutical drugs, toxic levels of chemicals like chlorine or fluoride, and even viruses and parasites. These nasties can make you seriously ill, and there are estimates that thousands of Americans get sick each year, from drinking their own tap water! So we really should be filtering our dirty tap water, and looking for the best water filter money can buy.
Probably the oldest method of water purification, distillation is what many healthy water brands use in their distillation machines on the promise that it will give you the healthiest drinking water and save you from our dirty drinking water supplies.
And the process in these so-called best water filter machines is very straightforward: tap water is heated to boiling so that the water vapor rises to a condenser where cooling water lowers the temperature so the vapor can be condensed, collected and stored. Most contaminants stay behind in what is called the liquid phase vessel.
A water ionizer uses a much more complex method to filter our tap water supply. They use multi-stage activated carbon filters, often containing tourmaline and coral calcium. The best ionizer filters are replaceable, like the ones on the Genesis Platinum series.
Because this filtration process is complex and precise, these filters do not strip the beneficial properties out of the water. And that is an important point…
A water ionizer with alkaline water filters will give you the opposite to acidic water, and this is one reason why they are the best water filter method. Ionizers produce alkaline water and even let you adjust the strength of alkalinity in the water.
Of course, we need this alkalinity to neutralize our over acidic bodies, we really shouldn’t be putting more acidic water down our throats.
Another reason why I’d recommend filtration from an ionizer is its ability to pack the filtered water with disease and age-busting antioxidants. We need these to lower the oxidative stress on our body.
So if we look at the facts, the choice is a no brainer. You’ve saved wasting your money on something that won’t give you the healthy drinking water you were looking for. And that’s not bad in my book.
