A reverse osmosis water filter is generally recommended for people who have a water hardness above 12 grains. It is also recommended for people who have high concentrations of carcinogenic contaminants like chromium 6, heavy metals, nuclear contamination, or excess nitrates and nitrites from farming.

It’s a simple fix. You have to get a multi-mineral filter to go between your reverse osmosis water filtration system and your alkaline water ionizer. We recommend multi-mineral filters because it’s good to have a variety of minerals in your drinking water. It’s healthier. These alkaline minerals will include calcium, magnesium, potassium, calium, and other healthy minerals.
Once you have picked out a good multi-mineral filter, you have to install it between your reverse osmosis system and your water ionizer as a pre-filter. Many of these remineralizing filters already have quarter-inch tube connections built into them. So it’s really easy to install. But, some of them also require a housing to put them in. This is an extra step but also not difficult to do. You just have to find a single filter water filter housing that has quarter-inch connectors in it.
This method will work well for reverse osmosis systems installed in your kitchen. If you have a whole house reverse osmosis system, it’s best to check with the manufacturer of that system about getting a stage of alkaline minerals installed.
