The 5 Filtration Stages
The PureT EZ Slim reverse osmosis system has several stages of water filtration to filter tap water to 99.99% purity.
- Stage One: Tap water is first pre-filtered using a sediment particle filter. Prefiltration cleans the water by removing tiny impurities. This filter also removes rust-causing iron oxide (rust), silt, sand grains, and insect parts. In addition to keeping your family safe from ingesting sediment, this filtering step also keeps your filtration system from clogging.
- Stage Two: The second filter is a granulated activated carbon filter that uses coconut shell carbon to remove chlorine, odor, and bad taste.
- Stage Three: The third filter is a coconut shell carbon block filter that removes volatile organic carbon compounds with insecticides and/or pesticides.
- Stage Four: The R/O membrane filter reduced TDS value in water by 98%. It also removes most harmful chemicals, E.coli, most heavy metals, Barium, Cadmium, Hexavalent & Trivalent Chromium, Copper, Lead, Radium 226/228, Selenium, Fluoride, Nitrite, and Nitrate (see owner manual for more details)
- Stage Five: The inline polish filter is granular coconut shell carbon to remove chlorine taste and reduce odors.
