Soybean Oil Changes Your Brain!

Soybean oil is one of the most common oils that we fry our foods in. It turns out it is also the most dangerous. Soybean oil causes neurological and metabolic changes. Those changes have been linked to an increase in diabetes, obesity, Parkinson’s disease and even Alzheimer’s.

Soybean Oil Changes Your Hypothalamus

When soybean oil was fed to mice, it altered their hypothalamus. It blocked certain genes that are critical to the functioning of the hypothalamus from working properly. Our hypothalamus is responsible for weight regulation, maintaining our body temperature, and has a significant impact on our reproductive drive.

What’s worse, is they discovered that soybean oil impacted about a hundred other genes. some of these genes were critical to our brain functioning and they theorize that soybean oil could be linked to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Other Oils Are Fine

This same study also fed coconut oil and other types of vegetable oil to the mice and the same genes weren’t impacted. They also controlled for soybean consumption and concluded that soy beans by themselves did not have the same adverse effects. Only the soybean oil.

The number one ingredient in most of the vegetable oils that you buy at the store is soybean oil. So it’s certainly worth paying attention to. Healthier oils to fry your foods in are coconut, avocado, and olive oils.

Air Fryers Are Better than Soybean Oil

There are also air fryers that can fry your food without using any oil at all. I personally use an air fryer for potstickers, french fries, tater tots, and for dehydrating fruits like bananas and apples. Everything comes out crispy just like it was fried in oil. They are quite nice.

Eat Whole Foods, Not Parts of Food

It’s always better to eat the whole foods. Just because a soybean might be healthy, doesn’t mean that soybean oil is also healthy. The same thing can be said for any other type of fruits and vegetables. Eating whole leafy greens like spinach are incredibly healthy. But breaking down spinach into iron and folic acid and it’s other ingredients is not as healthy as eating the whole leaf.

Whole Foods + Ionized Water = Healthy

Going forward, it’s a good idea to base your diet on whole foods and not supplements or any products that are based on the pieces of fruits and vegetables. It’s also a great idea to be drinking at least 8 ounces of water every single hour. And of course the best water to drink is ionized water because it’s alkaline and full of antioxidants that bottled and tap water do not have.

So, stop using soybean oil, eat whole foods and drink ionized water! You’ll be taking steps toward a much healthier life!
