Below is the international invoice that we received for one of our filter orders from Korea. It is to pay the duties on an approximately $3500 order, which amounted to $1,003,600 KW, or $687 USD.
Yes, WE are paying for the additional tariffs set by the Trump administration, NOT Korea. The tariffs are not a tax on Korea or any other country; they are a tax on American businesses.
Every time we order from Korea, we are hit with these additional charges, totaling thousands of dollars so far. We are not Walmart. We are a small, family-run business. The average tariff rate under Trump is 18%. Before, it was about 9%. This increase in “emergency” tariffs has cost US businesses like mine over $400 billion. While businesses have been eating this cost increase for the last several months, the burden is becoming too much, and now consumer prices are increasing on just about everything. We’re sure you’ve seen it at the grocery store, Walmart, Target, and other stores. These tariffs have also cost the US 40,000 manufacturing jobs, as businesses have been forced to cut costs rather than invest in US manufacturing.
So far, we have not increased our prices. Instead of raising prices, we would appreciate the word-of-mouth referrals that have powered our business from the beginning.
