No amount of lead in water is safe, especially for our children. That’s why we must remove lead from our tapwater and use multi-stage water filtration systems in our homes, like alkaline water ionizers, to get the lead out.
Right now, millions of families across the country are being poisoned by lead in they’re drinking water. In October 2024, the Biden administration finalized the Lead Out of Water rule, which required public water systems to identify and replace lead pipes within a decade. Republicans in Congress attempted to overturn this law early this year, but were defeated in May 2025. Still, it remains a Republican priority to overturn this law, and their attacks on this law will continue. It has already been weakened from its original form, allowing more time for the replacement of the lead pipes despite the urgent threat they pose to our health. These Republicans are being pushed by large corporations that are putting corporate profits above your health.
The bottom line is we can’t count on our municipal water treatment systems to remove the lead in our water. We must use multi-stage water filtration systems, such as our alkaline water ionizers, to remove it ourselves. KDF 55 is an effective water filtration media to remove heavy metals. If you can’t afford a water ionizer, at a minimum, you should install a single filter housing along with a KDF 55 filter.
