If you set your water ionizer to the number 3 alkaline setting, which is the drinking water setting, the water being released from the drain tube will be the perfect acid pH for plants, about 5.5. You can also set your water ionizer to the number 2 acid level and this will produce the same perfect 5.5 pH that plants love. Studies have been done on cut flowers that have concluded that acidic ionized water preserves the flowers as much as twice as long as regular water!
Plants are also better able to absorb acidic ionized water when compared to alkaline water, which allows them to grow better.
Water ionizers are also able to produce a super acidic water, usually around a 3 pH. If you capture this water and put it into a spray bottle, you can spritz it on the leaves of your garden plants. This super acidic water is a natural bug repellent!
In fact, ionized alkaline drinking water was discovered by Russians who were conducting tests on pesticides. When they made the super acidic ionized water, they tested the alkaline water by-product and discovered it had the same attributes as some of the best natural drinking water in the world. This discovery gave birth to the mass production of water ionizers!
